Hello There!

My name is Alexa Wilkinson. (that's me there on the left) Pleasure to meet you!

So as your reading this, I'm probably experimenting with some sort of seasonal special at my restaurant The Tapp or The Mill, where I am the Executive Chef. If you would have asked me 5 years ago, "Do you see yourself being a chef at a small Gastropub in Westchester?" I would have looked at you funny. I never thought I would end up a Chef and a beer sommelier, but here I am in this wonderful world of food and beer and I couldn't be happier! So take a look at my galleries, enjoy the view, and if you're in the area... Stop by!

A little bit about myself...

MY S T O R Y
I would love to tell you that my passion for food came from my grandmother, who spent years teaching me her secret to the perfect pie dough... But sadly that's just not the case. While my grandmother actually DOES make the perfect pie dough... she didn't teach me the recipe until I was about halfway through culinary school. My true passion for food came from eating it three times a day! I would go out, eat something amazing... and then try to duplicate it at home. I spent years working in restaurants to pay for my music career, and graphic design school... but I always ended up waiting tables again. While to some this may seem like I failed, but I saw it as a sign to follow my true passion... which is to serve the best meal possible... three times a day. So I put my guitar in my case, traded it in for a knife roll, and have been smiling ever since! My exploration into food also continued to the ever important beverage side, and while I was earning my Culinary Arts & Management degree, I also became a beer sommelier. So take a look at the gallery of treats I've made, that I most likely enjoyed with a beer. I hope you enjoy looking at them, as much as I enjoyed making them.
Oh and It was nice meeting you!!!
